Docksiders Boasts Three All-Around Champions At 2012 Top Flight Invitational

Docksiders Gymnastics Club teams competed in the 2012 Top Flight Invitational December 1 and 2 in Columbia, Md. and came away with a Team place and three All-Around Champions. The Level 6 Team won third place in the Team Competition in the first meet of the season. At Level 4, Grace Pimpo and Rebecca Widmer both won the All-Around in separate age groups, and at Level 5, Abigail Pimpo was crowned All-Around Champion. Several other Docksiders made podium appearances in the individual awards.

Grace Pimpo had the top performance at Level 4 with a combined total of 34.90, which clinched the win in the 7-year-old age group. In addition to the All-Around win, Grace was the Uneven Bar Champion with a 9.20, placed second on Balance Beam with an 8.50, and third on Floor Exercise with an 8.95. In the 6-year-old age group, Rebecca Widmer placed first with a 34.25. This was Rebecca’s debut performance in a gymnastics competition. She also won Uneven Bars with a 9.25, and took second on both Balance Beam with a 7.60, and Floor Exercise with an 8.75. She placed third on Vault with an 8.65. In the same age group, Aidyn Kenealy placed second on Uneven Bars with an 8.55. Laney Potter placed third on Vault with an 8.70, and third on Floor Exercise with an 8.55 in the 7-year-old Sr. group. Teammate Sophia Greene placed third on Vault with an 8.75 in the 7-year-old Jr. age group.

At Level 5, Abigail Pimpo captured the All-Around title with a 35.40 in the 11-year-old age group. She also made a clean sweep of first on every individual event, making the top of the podium five times. She scored an 8.60 on Vault, an 8.75 on Uneven Bars, a 9.35 on Balance Beam and an 8.70 on Floor Exercise. In the same age group, Madison Soto placed third on Vault with an 8.25. In the 6-7-year-old age group, Annie LeBlanc placed third on Uneven Bars with an 8.60, and third on Balance Beam with an 8.45.

At Level 6, Sophie Tyler placed third in the All-Around with a 35.75. She also placed first on Uneven Bars with a 9.15, and third on Floor Exercise with an 8.85. Megan Barry placed third on Balance Beam with a 9.0, and Sophia Feraci placed third on Uneven Bars with an 8.10. Teammates contributing to the team third-place finish were: Jolie Anderson, Parker Cross, Ashley Damm, Paige Doyle, Anneka Fredriksson, Sydney Herz, Kaylin Jackson, Miya McDowell, Devin Mowry, Khalila Shabazz and Lea Titchenor.

At Level 7, Juliet Luers had a solid Balance Beam routine that scored 9.05 and put her in second place in the 9-year-old age group. In the Level 8 competition, Macey Baldwin had a stand-out performance, placing second in the All-Around in the 12-13 age group with a 35.60. She placed first on Vault with a 9.20, and second on Uneven Bars with a 9.10. In the same age group, Kaitlin Dabney placed second on Balance Beam with an 8.50. In the 8-11-year-old age group. Sydney Gilman won Vault with a 9.30, and Sophie Hofmann won Balance Beam with a 9.10. Kate Wolbart earned the title "Balance Beam Queen" with an 8.90, and placed second on Floor Exercise with a 9.05. In the 14-16-year-old age group, Maddie Tyler placed third All-Around with a 32.75. She finished second on Balance Beam with an 8.85 and third on both Uneven Bars with a 7.90, and Floor Exercise with an 8.70. Karsyn Modeski won Uneven Bars with an 8.80, and placed third on Floor Exercise with an 8.90. Rachel Parshall placed second on Uneven Bars with an 8.55.
